Golf 

There is a saying in here that states "Hardly a day goes by when one cannot play golf in Guadalajara".  A statement that says as much about the climate as it does about golf.  Any true golfer knows that a day does not go by when they should not be playing golf.  The only club that is actually located in Guadalajara proper is the prestigious Guadalajara Country Club which is a private club, although it is not impossible to get a tee time.  The newest course, El Palomar Country Club, is high in the hills and features some stunning views.   Atlas Country Club is located near the airport on the way to Chapala.  Santa Anita, although a little out of the way, is well worth the trip.  Call ahead for availability of start times and remember not all of the facilities will always have English speaking personnel. 

Tennis

The pleasant days and cool nights invite you to go out and play some tennis.  Club de Tenis Royal is a laid back club (open to the public) with clay courts.  It is near La Gran Plaza shopping mall and is open from 7 AM to 11 PM.  Other sports clubs offer facilities of varying quality.  A few of the hotels also will let non guests play on their courts for a fee.  Call ahead for availability of courts and remember not all of the facilities will always have English speaking personnel.
